Currently sitting 9th on the WQS, Brett is looking like a shoe in for next years WCT. But as Brett would say, "its not over till its over" and he isn't approaching this contest any differently. Brett's first heat will run in the Round of 64 heat #15.

Bitter Sweet in Santa Cruz

The waves were pumping this year at the O'Neill Cold Water Classic in Santa Cruz. Brett charged his way through the round of 96, 48, 24 and into the round of 16. Brett ripped a 9.27 but Heath Joske got the better of two waves with an 8.10 and a 5.17 and Brett was left needing a 6.33 and with two minutes to go just couldn't find the wave he needed. So, while it was a lost at the Cold Water, it was a huge win overall for the 2009 campaign to qualify for the WCT.

Its been a highlight reel morning. Brett made it through his first two heats, 48 & 24, and is now resting up for his round of 16 heat in a few hours.
