Tasmania - Round of 16

Brett matched up against Damien Hobgood in the round of 16. Brett started off strong with backside reverse locking up a 7.83 in the first 15 seconds of the heat. Brett backed it up with a 7.03, locking down a solid total score of 14.86. But half way through the heat Damian found his wave and nailed down a 9.73. He quickly made his way back to the line up and soon after found another solid wave and back it up with a 8.70 totaling 18.43, the highest total in the round. While this was not the result Brett was looking for he grabbed 1,375 points, a nice start to the 7 counting scores needed to qualify.
